2021 Jeep Gladiator vs 2021 Toyota Tacoma

2021 Jeep Gladiator vs 2021 Toyota Tacoma

Driving a pickup truck is one of the most exhilarating automotive experiences around. They are efficient, reliable, and safe.

As it pertains to your search for your next pickup, there are two you should absolutely consider—the Jeep Gladiator and the Toyota Tacoma. Which one will work for you?

At Grava Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we want to help drivers in Medford, Malden, and Everett, MA, figure that out. So, we compared some of the most important features in both trucks.

Let’s jump in!

Jeep Gladiator Towing Power

Jeep Gladiator vs Toyota Tacoma: Towing Capability

Hauling a heavy load is easy when you have the Gladiator or the Tacoma at your side. For example, the Tacoma has a maximum towing capacity of up to 6,800 pounds along with a maximum payload of 1,440 pounds when properly equipped.

However, the Gladiator can do more. It has a best-in-class maximum towing capacity of up to 7,650 pounds when properly equipped. The Gladiator also has a maximum payload of 1,700 pounds with the proper configuration.

This is thanks in part to the engines found in the 2021 Gladiator. The first is a 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine that provides 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The second is a 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine that produces 260 horsepower and a best-in-class 442 lb-ft of torque.

The Tacoma offers two engines as well. The first is a 2.7L 4-cylinder engine that gets 159 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque, and the second is a 3.5L V6 engine that gets 278 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque.

Jeep Gladiator Interior

Jeep Gladiator vs Toyota Tacoma: Interior Technology

How do you make use of your technology? Do you like to listen to music or podcasts when you drive? Do you want to be able to send texts and make calls just by using your voice? The Gladiator and the Tacoma allow you to do all of that and more thanks to standard wireless Bluetooth® connectivity and a touchscreen display that lets you use your phone’s important features.

Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ also come standard in both vehicles. Both offer available 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspots and the capability to start and locate your truck through an app. Where the Gladiator really stands out is with its three available Uconnect® systems, one of which includes a best-in-class 8.4-inch high-resolution display touchscreen.

Want to keep listening to your music from your car’s speaker even after you’re done driving? The Jeep Gladiator offers an available, industry-exclusive removable Bluetooth® speaker that charges while you drive and is water-resistant for three feet up to 30 minutes.

Jeep Gladiator vs Toyota Tacoma: Decision

Regardless of which truck you choose, rest assured you’re getting something reliable and fun to drive. With that said, we at Grava CDJR think drivers in Medford, Malden, and Everett, MA, will be head over heels for the Jeep Gladiator based on its towing capacity, engine prowess, and interior technology.
