Determining the new truck for your adventures and workloads throughout the Medford, Malden, and Everett area can be tricky considering the amount of options out there that can offer you tremendous abilities. However, a lot of drivers and workers tend to square off with the 2020 Ram 1500 vs. 2020 Toyota Tundra. Both trucks offer quite a bit but knowing how they differ will help you decide.

Our team at Grava Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is here to help you out! We’re going to take a closer look at the 1500 vs. Tundra so you can determine the one that has what it takes to be your next truck.

RAM 1500 Engine Specs

Ram 1500 vs Toyota Tundra Engine Power & Performance

There’s quite a difference between the 1500 and Tundra when it comes to their engine performances. The new Ram 1500 offers a few different engine options. There’s the 3.6L V6 and even the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6. However, the 5.7L HEMI® V8 is the top choice and boasts 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque.

The Toyota Tundra only offers its drivers one engine option: the 5.7L i-FORCE V8. Although similar in displacement size, the Tundra falls a little short by boasting only 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque.

2020 Ram 1500 Towing

Pickup Truck Towing Capacities

Part of the reason for getting behind the wheel of a powerful pickup like the Tundra or Ram 1500 is because of the impressive abilities when it comes to hauling. The Ram 1500 offers a wide range of abilities due to the various engine selections. The Tundra offers a range as well, but the differences aren’t as wide.

But since both trucks have similar 5.7L V8 engines, you’d think the respective towing capacities would be the same, or at least close. That’s not the case with the new Ram 1500 because it can tow up to 12,750 pounds when properly equipped. The Toyota Tundra, on the other hand, falls short by maxing out its towing capacity at 10,200 pounds.
